Closures

At Dancers Unlimited, we follow the Elma School District calendar for holiday breaks and weather-related closures. This means if schools are closed due to holidays or inclement weather, the studio will be closed as well. Note: Our instructors travel through the Black Hills, there may be times when icy roads will be taken into consideration.

Important Notes:

• These planned and potential closures are already factored into your monthly tuition, which is a flat monthly fee—not based on the number of classes held or attended.

• Therefore, no refunds or make-up classes will be offered for missed classes due to district-aligned closures or weather-related events. Additionally, instructors are allowed two sick days per season without a make up day.

• In the rare case that the studio or instructor must cancel a class outside of the Elma School District schedule, we will provide a scheduled make-up day for that class.

Class Requirements

We want our dancers to feel comfortable, confident, and free to move! To ensure a safe and focused environment for everyone, please follow these simple guidelines:

Dance Attire:

• Students may wear any dance attire they feel comfortable in — leotards, leggings, dance shorts, fitted tees, tanks, etc. Please no jeans.

• Clothing must not be overly restrictive. Dancers should be able to move freely in all directions without adjustment.

• Skirts or extra flowy clothing should be secure and not distracting during movement.

Dance Shoes:

• Proper dance shoes are required for all classes. (tap shoes, jazz shoes, sneakers for hip-hop, etc., depending on the class.) Black Tap shoes please and Tan jazz shoes. Ballet Pink color ballet shoes for the 2 yr old Mommy & Me class.

Hair:

• Hair must be styled neatly and securely out of the dancer’s face. (Buns, ponytails, braids, or secured half-up styles are recommended.)

Additional Guidelines:

• No large jewelry (for safety).

• Bring a water bottle to class — staying hydrated is important!

• Respectful behavior, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn are expected at all times.

Enrollment Commitment & Withdrawl Policy

At Dancers Unlimited, we view enrollment as a commitment to your dancer, their growth, and the studio community we’re building together.

We understand that sometimes schedules shift or seasons change and we’re here to support you through that.

If you do need to withdraw from classes, we kindly ask for the following:

• A 30-day written notice is required for all withdrawals

• Notice must be submitted via email (or your preferred method)

• Tuition will continue for one full billing cycle (30 days) after notice is received

• Auto-pay will remain active during this time

• We are unable to offer refunds or credits for missed classes

This policy allows us to properly plan classes, staffing, and maintain consistency for all of our dancers.

We truly value every dancer who walks through our doors, and it’s always our hope that once you’re here… you feel like family 💛

• Dancers will not be allowed to leave the classroom or building on their own or with another parent, friend, or sibling unless it has been confirmed with studio staff.

• If someone new will be picking up your dancer, please notify us in advance by email, text, or in person at drop-off. If a pickup person is delayed, your child will remain safely inside the studio with their instructor until they arrive.
